Shane Mosley Jr. vs. Serhii Bohachuk: Middleweight fight

He now aims to improve on that feat and continue his path to becoming Zuffa’s first middleweight champion. Bohachuk, as a Ukrainian, fights not only for himself, but also to be an inspiration to his countrymen. When he defeated Butaev, he said he was fighting for his country, and he couldn’t afford to lose. That’s the mindset he has in this fight.

Bohachuk is a pressure fighter who seeks to systematically break down his opponents. With an average output rate of 75.6 punches per round, he will really test Mosley, who can be found defensively.

In his last fight against Jesus Ramos Jr., he was outscored 219 to 281, with Ramos landing 46 percent of his total punches and 48 percent of his power punches. If Mosley is not defensively sound in this matchup, he may not survive the full 10 rounds.

Offensively, he can provide a challenge; the 219 punches he landed against Ramos were the most any opponent had landed against Jesus in his professional career (Compubox). Shane has a four-inch reach advantage over Serhii, and he will try to box him at a distance, using his jab and agility to evade his relentless attack.

Bohachuk and Mosley sparred nearly five years ago, and what Serhii took from those sparring sessions is that Mosley isn’t hungry. He says he lived a good life being raised by his father, former three-division champion Shane Mosley.

In contrast to him, who grew up under different circumstances in Ukraine, had to fight for survival. Serhii will look to test Shane physically and mentally and will take him into deep waters to see how much he really wants to win.

As he said in his previous match, Bohachuk is fighting not only for himself, but for his countrymen, and he wants to win for them.
