Shane Mosley Jr. impressed in Zuffa debut

Shane earned the technical knockout victory by landing 46 percent of his total power punches, demonstrating his accuracy while withstanding Serhii’s relentless attack (Compubox). He hurt the Ukrainian in a way that few did.

Bohachuk questioned Mosley’s hunger to fight, after the fight Shane said he proved his toughness and showed his true hunger with a statement win. He then challenged Zuffa star Callum Walsh to a fight.

He and Ivan Ortiz were awarded performances of the night, earning bonuses for their spectacular victories. Both fighters were underdogs in their respective bouts and emerged victorious.

Andreas Katzourakis defeated Misael Rodriguez on the same card and said he wants to fight the winner of Mosley-Bohachuk. When Shane was asked at the post-fight press conference if he would be willing to fight Andreas, he said that he fears no one and will fight anyone.

Dana White pointed out that the structure of Zuffa is to build fighters, and as it is developed, storylines are created that will mesh with other fighters. So, when one fighter calls out another, the public will know the fighters, and there will be a built-in storyline. Mosley appears to have his sights set on a fight with Walsh.

At age 35, it was Shane’s first time headlining an event, and he appreciated the opportunity. He knew this was his opportunity and delivered. It was the best performance of his career against an opponent who saw him lose. He showed a side of himself that he hadn’t shown before, a fighter determined to win by any means necessary.

Mosley could have played it safe and chosen to box Bohachuk, but instead stood his ground and stayed in the fire and survived. It’s a career-defining win, and he hopes it gives him an opportunity to challenge for the title.

Looks like Zuffa has a lot of notable signings in the works. When asked by members of the media about rumors that Shakur Stevenson and Devin Haney have joined Zuffa, he did not definitively deny the rumors, but said there could be a possibility that they could be future signees.

With the talent pool and signees increasing, it will fighters like
Mosley opportunities to challenge other divisional talent. As for his first Zuffa fight, Mosley was impressive.
