Riding a Pirelli-shod Leaky Molly Dynavolt Intact GP Calex on the 3.36-mile (5.40 km) track, the Spaniard led the 28-rider field with a record of 1:58.585.
Philippe Salac was the best of the rest with a 1:58.721 on the sole supporter of American Racing Team Calex.
Daniel Holgado was third fastest in the CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team Calex 1:58.823.
American Joe Roberts finished the opening session 6th in his OnlyFans American Racing Team Kalex with a time of 1:59.187.
