Marc Marquez has been tipped to use Marco Bezecic’s ‘Achilles heel’ to win the MotoGP title.
27-year-old Aprilia rider Bezechichi He leads the 2026 MotoGP World Championship standings with 180 points after eight rounds.
The Italian is 20 points ahead of Aprilia team-mate and 2024 world champion Jorge Martin. Underrated, seven-time champion Marquez He is in fifth place, 72 points behind Bezechi.
Despite his huge points deficit, Marquez is being touted as a title contender after his impressive return from injury with a strong performance at Mugello and wins in the Hungarian Sprint and Grand Prix.
This weekend, the 2026 MotoGP season continues with the Czech Grand Prix, where Marquez has previously been fastest in FP1. Ai Ogura put the schedule first in practice.
Who will win the Czech Grand Prix, and why?
Marco Bezeci urged him to ‘improve’ the results on Saturday
Commentator Gavin Emmett and former jockey Neil Hodgson spoke about Bezcicci’s results on Saturday, speaking during TNT Sports’ live practice broadcast.
Emmett The Italian described Saturday’s performance as something of an ‘Achilles heel’ and urged him to improve his sprint results.
It has been suggested that the strength of Marquez and Martin in the Sprint race could be the key to this year’s title race.
Emmett said: “I asked Marco Bezecic about Saturday. He’s his Achilles’ heel at the moment, isn’t he, Neil. We know Marc Marquez will be strong in the sprint, George Martin will be strong in the sprint too.”
I would suggest that they are probably his biggest challenges for the title this year. George Martin went one better on Saturday as he won the World Championship with victory over Peco Bagnaia.

Hodgson Bezcicci was quick to agree with Emmett, saying he is the ‘hands-on’ man for Sunday’s Grand Prix.
He added: “Yes, you are quite right, if you look at the results in the sprint race, it is something that needs to be improved. It will work towards Sunday, but on Saturday, it should be more aggressive in the opening laps.”
“I think that played a role in his results, but I mean, they weren’t terrible.”
