Jose Benavidez Sr. calls on Artur Beterbiev to ‘sit down’ and make fighting happen


Jose Benavidez Sr. publicly invited Artur Beterbiev and his team to begin negotiations for a fight against David Benavidez.

The comments came after Beterbiev recently discussed previous talks between the two camps. Benavidez Sr., who serves as David’s father, trainer and manager, said he remains ready to continue the fight.


“Right now, if Beterbiev is watching, their managers are watching, or whoever makes that decision, I’m David’s father, trainer, manager. Let’s sit down. Let’s make those fights happen. Those are the fights we want to make,” Benavidez Sr. said. told Fight Hub TV.

“We never got an offer. Like I’m telling you now, we never got an offer. But those are the fights we want. I think with all due respect, Beterbiev is a great fighter, man. He’s a very dangerous fighter. He’s one of the best right now. He and Bivol are one of the top fighters, but those are the fighters we want to prove ourselves and fight.”

Benavidez Sr. added that there should be little difficulty in putting the fight together if both sides are interested.

“Let’s make that fight happen. That fight can be made in five minutes,” Jose Sr. said. said. “These are the fights we want. We’re willing to give the people what they want.”

David Benavidez became a three-division world champion earlier this year when he defeated Zurdo Ramirez in cruiserweight. Since then, Beterbiev and Dmitri Bivol have been frequently mentioned among the potential opponents for Benavidez’s next fight.

“Let’s go,” Benavidez Sr. said. said. “We’re ready. These are the fights we want.”
