You have to go back to 2023 to find a Memorial Champion whose name isn’t there Scottie Scheffler. The World No. 1 has triumphed in Muirfield Village the last two years amid his dominance in the PGA Tour.
This year, Scheffler is the betting favorite again, but not just because of himself twice the status of the defending champion. Scheffler has seven top-5 finishes in just 11 starts this seasonincluding a win at American Express. This has helped it easily maintain its ranking of no. 1 and jump out to an early lead in the FedEx Cup standings.
Now Scheffler will attempt to return to the winner’s circle for the first time since January and his mission begins on Thursday.
You can watch the first round of the Memorial Tournament on TV via Golf Channel beginning at 2:00 PM ET on Thursday. PGA Tour live on ESPN+ will offer exclusive early broadcast coverage beginning Thursday at 7:45 a.m. ET, as well as featured coverage with featured sets and slots.
