Stephen McKenna blows out Casey James Streeter in the opening round at Zuffa Boxing 7

Stephen McKenna wasted little time making a statement, stopping Casey James Streeter in just over a minute of the opening round at Zuffa Boxing 7 on Saturday.

The middleweight contender came out aggressive from the opening bell and immediately put Streeter on the defensive. The fight was short lived as McKenna landed several clean shots and forced the action from the start. A flurry of unanswered punches prompted referee Amy Pu to stop the bout at 1:04 of the opening round.

The win improved McKenna’s record to 16-1 with 15 knockouts, further cementing his reputation as one of the heavier punchers in the division.

For Streeter, the loss dropped him to 15-4. The American had previously shown durability against various opponents but was unable to withstand McKenna’s early onslaught.

The fight marked McKenna’s return to action after a long period of inactivity, and the Irish fighter showed no signs of ring rust. He immediately took control of the fight and never gave Streeter an opportunity to establish any offense.

McKenna promised an aggressive performance before the fight, and he delivered just that. The quick stoppage was one of the fastest finishes on the Zuffa Boxing 7 card and provided another highlight reel knockout for his growing resume.

With the win, McKenna continues to build momentum as he eyes bigger opportunities in the middleweight division.
