Kohli appreciated that the team did not rely on just one or two individuals. He noted how many different Man of the Match awards were spread across the list throughout the season. Acknowledging the massive influx of red-shirted supporters in Ahmedabad, he joked: “I always say we don’t have seven home games, we probably have 14.” He noted that although they were playing at GT’s home ground, almost 90% of the stadium was filled with RCB fans.

“I always say we don’t have 7 home games. We probably have 14 because everywhere we go we have fans cheering for the team and you know, they really get behind us. I mean, GT is probably the home team, but you see 90 percent of the kids are RCB fans. So that’s what we’ve earned over the years and we keep making them proud and moving forward,” Kohli said in the post-match chat.
