“I don’t want to play the 15 year old boy card but tell me how many matches has he played to have this much mental maturity at 15? If you remember the uppercut he hit on the 6-man third baseman earlier in the season, he was trying to play the same ball straight and the ball went wide. In one season, he made such changes at the age of only 15,Ashwin said.
Ashwin then went on to heap greater praise on the RR prodigy.
“He is not a normal football player. His mother and father must do their best to remove the evil eye from him. This guy was saying in the post-match interview that the hundred will come later, I tried to win tonight’s match for my team. How he bats, he doesn’t care about hundreds of people, because he knows he will get them here and there“, he added.
Ashwin also highlighted how Suryavanshi responded to questions about the pressure during the playoffs.
“There was a question about how he would play under pressure and he was incredible“, Ashwin concluded.

RR beats SRH in Eliminator to keep IPL 2026 title hopes alive
