JT Poston needed a few extra holes, but he made it through the Memorial Tournament. He also gave Titleist’s new line of GTS drivers her first PGA Tour win of the season.
But this wasn’t just a “young driver wins” story.

Titleist’s new GTS line enters the table
The headliners have already had a strong season in winning purses. of GT3 has appeared with the likes of Cameron Young, Matt Fitzpatrick and JJ Spaun. Brandt Snedeker also won in a Titleist GT2.
Poston’s win is different because it is the first win for the young woman GTS line.
Not every Titleist player has entered the GTS however, which is to be expected. Tournament players don’t change because something is new. They switch when she beats what they already have. For Poston, it seems to be working.
Poston Memorial’s stat line supported the equipment story. He finished the week with +14,445 in Strokes Gained: Total, including +7,581 tee to green and +6,865 putting. The shot mattered, but this was not a win where the driver was alone along for the ride.

Old 3-wood
The new driver is the headline, but the 3-wood may be the club most players notice.
Poston still had one Title TS2 3-wood in the bag. That model dates back to 2018 which is old in golf equipment years and really old by PGA Tour standards.
It also says a lot about fairway woods. These clubs are personal. They have to start straight, sit straight, hit a window and be carried off the field. When a player finds one that works, he it can be very difficult to replace.
Another win for the Spider
Poston also earned 6,865 strokes putting for the week so that TaylorMade Spider Tour X Torched deserves some of the credit.
Spider shooters have been all over the winning bags this season. Spider patterns were on the winning bags of Scottie Scheffler, Chris Gotterup, Collin Morikawa, Rory McIlroy, Brandt Snedeker, Aaron Rai and now Poston.
