‘Once that shot lands, it’s over’

“I don’t think he’s going to pose a huge threat to AJ to be honest,” Fury said of Prenga at talkSPORT Boxing. “I think he’ll look at him. I think he’ll get behind his box, he’ll look, but unfortunately, you know, I think he’ll show his chin a little too quickly.”

Pointing to his own experience transitioning to professional boxing with kickboxers, Fury suggested Prenga’s background could work against him against an experienced heavyweight like Joshua.

“And someone with AJ’s power, he has devastating power,” Fury said. “So, once that shot lands, it’s over.”

Joshua (31-4, 28 KOs) returns against Prenga in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, in his first fight since being stopped by Daniel Dubois. The former unified heavyweight champion has been linked with a long-rumored clash with Tyson Fury, with promoter Frank Warren recently indicating that Fury is expected to fight again in August.

While Fury admitted that a Joshua-Fury showdown might come later than fans wanted, he still expects the fight to draw huge interest if both men do business in their interim bouts.

Peter Fury sees little danger in Joshua’s immediate assignment and sees Prenga as an opponent unlikely to survive once the British star starts landing his trademark power shots.
