Ogura joins Yamaha for 2027, accused of choosing ‘money’ over motorcycles

Carlo Pernat questioned Ai Ogura’s decision to join Yamaha.

“This is really a financial solution, not a motorcycle solution. Why would Aprilia leave a track house with a bike like this at this point?

“Honestly, I don’t understand it from a sporting point of view, maybe from an economic point of view.”

Trackhouse team boss David Brivio responded to the news of Ogura’s departure: “He told us no he won’t be staying with us next year. It’s not for me to say where he’s going.”

David Brivio wants an ‘experienced’ rider to replace Ai Ogura

Brivio has been asked to replace Ogura and has hinted that he is looking for an experienced rider to take over for the 25-year-old.

Now that the Italian trackhouse has a bike that can compete at the front, he says he wants to sign someone who he feels can get on the podium and win races.

As reported Motorsport ItalyBrivio said: “I always love working with startups and watching them grow.

“The moment Trackhouse is there, with this competitive bike, and I feel like we can try to get good results, I feel like it’s time to try and get an experienced rider to go on the podium and maybe win races.

“The bike seems to allow that to happen. Now is the time to take advantage of that potential.”

So far, the likes of Jack Miller, Ezan Guevara and Joan Mir have all been linked with a move to Trackhouse as Ogura’s replacements.
