Following a new agreement between the Government of Aragon and MotoGP, MotorLand Aragon will continue to host the Aragon Grand Prix in 2027. The renewed agreement was officially announced today, June 10, at an event in Zaragoza.
Although the renovation to host a Grand Prix is only for 2027, the circuit will remain part of the MotoGP structure as an official reserve circuit from 2028 to 2031.
MotoGP CEO Carmelo Izpeleta said: “MotorLand Aragon has been an important partner to MotoGP for almost two decades, playing a key role in the Championship’s presence in Spain. The 2027 renewal reflects the strength of that partnership and the value the event brings to the region. We are delighted to continue working together and look after Aragon as a family.
The Aragon Grand Prix event represents an investment of 12 million euros and will generate significant profits for the region. Every year Motorland Aragon generates around 50 million euros in direct and indirect economic impact, half of this figure is directly related to the MotoGP Grand Prix.
Over 110,000 fans attend the Grand Prix weekend each year, with thousands traveling from Spain and internationally. The event provides a great opportunity for hotels, restaurants and local businesses to show off Aragon, often at full capacity during the race weekend.
“We are happy to confirm that the Aragon Grand Prix will return next year. In 2027, motorcycles will roar around the Alcaniz circuit,” said Jorge Azcon, President of the Aragon Region. “MotorLand will continue to be associated with MotoGP as a reserve venue between 2028 and 2031.”
The return of MotoGP to Motorland Aragon in 2027 will ensure fans can once again experience world-class racing at one of the championship’s most technically demanding and spectacular venues.
