“There was only one dance partner for Tyson Fury, the Gypsy King, and that’s Anthony Joshua,” John told Pro Boxing Fans.
Asked about the possibility of Dana White promoting the fight, Fury backed the UFC president and Zuffa Boxing figure to handle an event of such magnitude.
“Whoever’s going to take it on, he’s going to be a lucky man because it’s a spectacle and a half. The biggest fight in history. No matter what they say or what they don’t, it’s going to be the most watched fight in the whole world,” John said.
“If Dana White can get it, he’s a capable guy. He’s a good businessman. He’s a smart guy, you know, and he’s a new kid on the block, right?
“Unfortunately, like me, older people have to make way for the younger ones. Let’s be honest, they can bring new things to the game, can’t they? People, you know, that they haven’t seen before. I’m sure Dana White is capable of that.”
White has made no secret of his ambition to establish Zuffa Boxing as a major player in the sport. Meanwhile, Fury and Joshua have been repeatedly linked with a blockbuster meeting that has so far failed to materialise.
With Joshua preparing for his comeback later this summer and White continuing to expand his boxing footprint, John Fury believes the Zuffa figure could be the man to finally bring one of heavyweight boxing’s most anticipated bouts to life.
