Milan agree a club-record fee with PSG for Gonçalo Ramos

AC Milan have agreed a club-record deal to sign Gonçalo Ramos from Paris Saint-Germain, ending a rapid pursuit of the 25-year-old Portuguese striker.

according to The AthleticJames Horncastle, the deal is done. Ramos will become the first signing of the Ruben Amorim era at San Siro.

Milan are offering Ramos a long-term contract for around 4 million euros per season. Negotiations with his agent Jorge Mendes moved quickly once a fee was agreed with PSG.

Talks began quickly. An initial bid worth just over €50m was presented to PSG, and the French champions accepted, ending a run that attracted clubs from across Europe.

Ramos has already completed his medical not at San Siro, but in Florida. He is currently with the Portugal national team preparing for their final World Cup group stage game against Colombia in Miami.

Amorim has been building Milan with a 3-4-2-1 system and needed a suitable centre-forward. Ramos fits the bill: a forward who drops deep, links play and scores in the area.

The Benfica Academy product joined PSG in 2023 for €65 million. He won two back-to-back Champions League titles in Paris, but was largely a stand-in for manager Luis Enrique.

At 25, Ramos is entering his prime. Milan have long needed a consistent centre-forward. The last to fill that role with any real presence was Olivier Giroud, who left the club nearing 40.

PSG are also expected to part ways with Randal Kolo Muani and Lee Kang this summer, signaling a wider overhaul of the squad in the French capital.

For Milan, this is more than a signing. It is a statement of intent from Cardinale and Amorim, the Rossoneri are rebuilding with ambition, and Ramos is their cornerstone.
