“I’m happy, and going into Q2 you have to respect the process, you have to respect the second row start and you have to respect the top-five finish. We’ll try to continue our work.”

“I’m never satisfied with these results, but for now I have to be calm and composed. Tomorrow, like today, we’ll try to start with enthusiasm, we’ll see where we stand, but clearly there are four riders in front of us.”
“Then there’s Fermin (Aldeguerre) and Peco (Bagnaya) who I think are faster than us on paper, but we’ll try to manage as much as we can.”
After taking the lead in first place, Marquez quickly dropped down the order and his rivals overtook the Spaniard on the way. It was clear he wasn’t 100% when he got back to two wheels, and so Marquez couldn’t answer.
“It’s just like that – now I have to ride like this, right? If I’m done too much, I’ll be, I’ll be. So it’s true that I took all the places in the first round, but it’s like that: if you don’t attack, the best defense is a good attack.
“So if you don’t attack, they will attack you in the first round – that’s normal – but I’ve decided to start calmly and see if we can get a good start tomorrow.”
Get through those first few laps and settle down to a comfortable pace so I can get through the whole run decently.
