Marc Marquez admits something is preventing him from ‘giving up’ and walking away from MotoGP.

Marquez33, is one of the greatest riders in MotoGP history, having won seven world titles so far in his career.

Despite all his achievements, the Spaniard has been operated on again for several injuries, especially his shoulder, after the accident at Le Mans last month.

Marquez returned to Mugello before winning the Sprint and Grand Prix in Hungary, which put him back in title contention.

Marc Marquez ‘would have quit’ if he didn’t have a ‘strong mind’

Speaking ahead of this weekend’s Czech Grand Prix, Marquez has revealed his mental strength is the only reason he hasn’t ‘given up’ on his MotoGP career.

The Spaniard says he has overcome many difficult times and is mentally as strong as ever.

As reported Sky Sports Italia“If I didn’t have such a strong mindset, I would have given up,” says Marquez.

“I’m stronger than ever because I’ve overcome a lot of tough times and the better I come back, maybe not as a rider, but mentally.

“Physically it’s better to be strong, but mentally, I have to be—it’s important if I want to keep going.

He said: “It means a lot, I’ve got numbers that I never imagined, it’s unthinkable that I’ll be around those numbers and those names. So I’m really happy.”

“Like I said last year when I won the championship, I’m happy to have the same mentality and try to fight for the championship.

“Sooner or later I knew I had the bike to do the bike, if you have the bike this season, you have a chance. Now 100, I’m stuck at 100! I don’t think so, but maybe. You never know.

“Last year in Misano to be in this situation after nine months I’d say it’s crazy in the sport we’re in. But in 2020 I’ve learned that lies can change from one day to the next.”
