Giacomo Agostini predicts ‘Spain will be on fire’ as Pedro Acosta joins Marc Marquez at Ducati.

Giacomo Agostini is relishing the duel between Ducati ‘cannibals’ Marc Marquez and Pedro Acosta next year. While the deal has not been officially announced, Acosta is widely rumored to be joining the Borgo Pangale team.

Agostini said: “They are two cannibals, two strong, aggressive Spaniards. “In our line of work, your first rival is your teammate, but Mark will give everything, give 100%, we will see a good fight, Spain will be on fire.”

Agostini, who won 15 titles in various divisions, came close to great teammates such as Mike Hailwood and Phil Read during his career.

Ducati’s 2027 rider line-up could be another Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo.

Ducati’s move to Acosta is reminiscent of Yamaha’s 2008 move to Jorge Lorenzo.

Unlike Acosta, Lorenzo was a rookie, but he was on his way to becoming a five-time champion in Valentino Rossi. Rossi had been racing for Yamaha for four seasons when Lorenzo arrived.
