White made it clear that he disagreed with that version of events.
When asked about the situation, White responded with a challenge of his own.
“See what happens over the next 30 days,” White said.
The CEO of Zuffa Boxing was then pressed over claims that contracts for the fight reportedly stated that Zuffa would not be the main promoter.
White appeared amused at the suggestion.
“Do you believe I would lie in public?”
He continued by questioning why he would make such statements in public if they were not true.
“What would be the point of that?”
The comments come after weeks of speculation surrounding the long-awaited heavyweight showdown. White has repeatedly spoken as if Zuffa Boxing was involved in the event, while figures connected to Fury and Joshua have publicly pushed back against that narrative.
White suggested that the full picture will soon become clearer.
“They specifically said that the contract said Zuffa Boxing couldn’t promote it. I’d lie in public and then look like an idiot in front of everyone?”
The Fury-Joshua fight remains one of the biggest potential events in boxing, and White’s latest comments are unlikely to quiet the debate.
Earlier in the press conference, White also looked at Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn while discussing other business matters.
“Congratulations again, Eddie. You sound stupid again.”
White seems content to let the speculation continue while insisting that developments are coming. If his prediction proves accurate, the next month could provide answers to one of boxing’s biggest lingering questions.
