Eddie Hearn says Anthony Joshua has never worked harder

“He’s happy there. He’s really happy. They’re working him like a dog. Like a dog. He’s never worked like that,” Hearn told Sky Sports Boxing of Joshua.

“So much so that after three or four days he called me the first time. I went to see him and stayed with him in his house in Valencia. I opened the door, and there is one single bed in the room.

“I said, ‘Is that your bed?’ He says, “Yes.” I said, ‘Are you mad?’ He said, ‘No. It’s so comfortable. I love it.’

“That’s just him. He’s thinking, ‘I’m here to work, mate. Don’t put me in a king-size mattress. Put me in a single bed. I’m here to work.’

“It’s an incredible mentality for someone with so much wealth and who has achieved so much. That’s why I always talk about how great this individual is. The mindset of the individual.

“He’s working harder now than he’s ever worked in his life and I believe it will really pay dividends,” Hearn told Sky Sports.

Joshua is scheduled to face Kristian Prenga on July 25 ahead of a planned fight with Fury later in 2026.
