Dana White welcomes Boxing’s new alliances: “I Love It”

Dana White says he has no problem seeing boxing’s longtime rivals work together, even joking that he enjoys watching the sport’s shifting alliances.

“All these guys who hated each other six months ago are all friends and on the same network and trying to work together. I love that,” Dana said at Sunday’s press conference.

White made the comment while responding to a question about the recent collaboration between rival promoters, organizations and broadcast partners. Earlier in the press conference he said he had no personal problems with Eddie Hearn and would have no problem meeting him if asked, but added that Zuffa Boxing would continue to compete for fighters and major events regardless of any bookings.

The comments came after several questions about a proposed “peace summit” involving White, Hearn and Turki Alalshikh. White said he hadn’t heard of the idea before, but made it clear he had no problem sitting down with rival promoters if the opportunity presented itself.

The growing collaboration on boxing has become one of the sport’s biggest talking points in recent months. Longtime rivals have increasingly collaborated on major events and broadcast deals, a marked shift from the fragmented business model that defined the sport for years.

Dana has repeatedly insisted that Zuffa Boxing intends to compete rather than partner with established promoters. Saturday’s comments continued that message as he emphasized his amusement at seeing well-known competitors become more willing to work together as the sport’s business landscape continues to evolve.
