After a 10km in Valencia in 27:43 in January and a half marathon in Barcelona in 61:42 in February, Andy Butchart returned to the UK with a convincing win here in 29:46.

BIDEFORD 10km, Devon, 10th May
While the open races were won by Alex Gibb and Christa Kane, it was the veteran age groups that drew a quality field, including top age group performers such as W65 Claudine Benstead who was best W65 in 42:45.
Second overall in the ladies race was Mansfield’s W50 Hayley Gill who ran 36:19.
There was also a classy M60 age group with Tony Wright leading Andrew Leach and John James in 34:21.
It was the event’s inclusion as a race for England Athletics’ age group masters program that invited older runners to Devon.
