Ai Ogura’s move to Yamaha for the 2027 MotoGP season surprised everyone, including the manager.
The Japanese rider decided to leave Tracking house and the Aprilia Family after two seasons and change to Yamaha Next year. Ogura replaces Alex Rins.He will likely pull himself out of MotoGP.

David Brivio was told by Ai Ogura’s manager that he was even surprised by Yamaha’s move.
Speaking after the Spanish Grand Prix where Ogura finished fifth #ZamTube YouTube channelTrackhouse boss David Brivio Ogura said he was surprised by his move to Yamaha, and his manager was shocked.
“But we were all surprised,” he said. “I was surprised because now that he has a very competitive team, I thought he would want to use it that well. But no, he made a different choice.

“Well, it’s hard to ask him, it’s a bit of a struggle, maybe he’ll tell us a little bit and that’s fine, I mean everyone makes their own choices.”

“Yes, it was a surprise and that’s it, so, well, never mind, let’s see if there’s any satisfaction in getting it right.

Who will replace Ai Ogura on Trackhouse?
With Ogura gone, track houses must act quickly to secure their driver lineup for the 2027 season. Raul Fernandez is out of contract in 2026, so there is no chance of him staying on.
Trackhouse is looking for an ‘experienced’ driver Fernandez is likely to keep his place in the team next season. American Apparel has a few options to consider.
Yamaha’s Izan Guevara could be a trackhouse target.But they are considering moving the Iwata outfit into MotoGP at Pramac.
