Highlights of Day 6:
- A race for the agesThe women’s 400m final lived up to the hype. Sydney McLaughlin-Levron, USAwon the gold in 47.78, the second-fastest time in history, just behind Marita Koch’s WR Since 1985! Marilydi Paulino, DOM, ran 47.98, NR, third fastest woman ever. Marilid never gave up, fighting to the end. Salva Aid NasserThe 2019 world champion was the bronze medalist with a score of 48.19.

It was Walcott’s first world title in thirteen years. Anderson Peters (Grenada) took silver, and Curtis Thompson, USAtook the bronze, the first major medal for an American since 2007. (Keshorn Walcott was his roommate Jeremy Richardsboth medalists; Only 4 athletes from TTO competed in Tokyo.)

Jeremy Richards, TTO, From lane 2, took silver with a NR of 43.72. Get started, BOT!took the bronze. A little trivia, in the Mixed Zone, Bayapo saw that I was from the USA and told me that Botswana would win the 4x400m relay.

- Noah Lyles He won the 200 meter race semi-final in 19.51 minutes. I was told by one of Noah’s team when I asked if Noah would run faster in the final, “Noah would be very happy to tie the final this time.”
