Massimo Rivola says he doesn’t want to ‘show his cards’ by putting Aprilia 2027 bike on the road

Massimo Rivolasaid the CEO of Aprilia Racing Motorsport Italy That the team is in no rush to bring their 2027 bike to track just yet.

Rivola has confirmed that Aprilia is still focused on their 2027 bike, but they want to keep their cards close to the suit. In addition, the team is confident in their ‘time to market’ when they conceptualize their plan.

“We’re certainly not in a hurry – and it’s not because we don’t care about 2027. Simply put, we’re not in a hurry.

“After the Jerez (race) week, we will start running the 2027 bike on the track, in personal testing, but it’s more of a hybrid prototype to gather some information about the engine management and the relationship with the dyno.

“We are not in a hurry because we don’t want to reveal our card, but also today one of Aprilia’s strong points – let’s say in a good way – is ‘time to market’.

“From the time we have an idea to when we put it on the road, we are very quick. That is one of the secrets of performance in anything, speed in decision-making and execution.

Massimo Rivola says Aprilia wants to maintain ‘technological leadership’ with the 2027 bike.

Speaking further in the interview, Rivola Aprilia said that they are always confident in their ability to build a winning bike, and this year is no different.

That’s why Apria are focused on putting their bike on the road while feeling confident, not wanting to rush and lose the technology gap they’ve built up over other teams.

“Every year I say our best bike will be the next one because I always see a growing company. And if the company grows, the result – our bike – will inevitably be better than last year.”

It will be of particular importance because we will simply have a little fair system to work with. But I am still one of those who believe it is extremely important.

“We want to clearly maintain our technology leadership in this area, so it’s about having the courage to invent something that can deliver results – and that can be transferred to production bikes.”

For a team like Aprilia, pride in their work is key to their success. At one point. Apria mechanics were embarrassed. Looking at the difference they have with the other teams at the race weekend.

But now sitting comfortably at the top of the MotoGP standings, Aprilia are in no rush to keep pace or keep up appearances against other teams.
