Ryan Garcia dismisses VADA claims, warns of legal action

On Friday, Ryan Garcia decided to shut down claims about his drug testing status, calling reports that he was not registered with VADA false and warning of legal action against anyone who repeats them.

In a post on XRyan Garcia said he was tested throughout his training camp and rejected suggestions circulating online and in parts of the media that he was not subject to VADA supervision. Garcia wrote that he had not planned to respond publicly, but that he felt compelled to do so after seeing how the claims had spread.

“I wasn’t going to talk about this, it’s ridiculous, but I’ve seen parts of the media claiming I’m not being tested by VADA, which is extremely untrue,” Garcia wrote. “I’ve been tested all this camp, and I’m sure so is Mario Barrios.”

Garcia added that anyone who continues to claim he is not being tested will face legal consequences. The language was one of his strongest public responses on the topic, shifting from denial to warning as the discussion gained traction online.

Questions about testing have followed Garcia since last year, making the issue sensitive as he prepares for his next fight against Mario Barrios. The renewed debate seems bound less by new information than by lingering skepticism, which Garcia’s post aimed to stop rather than debate.

Neither VADA nor representatives of Barrios issued a public statement Friday in response to Garcia’s comments. No outlet directly cited by Garcia has publicly corrected or clarified his reporting.

Garcia’s message was clear in intent. He does not treat the claims as speculation or opinion, and he indicates that he considers the matter settled unless it is formally disputed.
