Ryan Garcia says Haneys needs him after Devin knocks

The Garcia-Haney rematch is one they both want, but it will have to wait until after Ryan’s fight with WBC welterweight champion Mario Barrios in February.

“The Haneys are always going to need me. I made a ** whoop like he stole something. They call him ‘Deebo Dev.’ Well, I’m ‘Ice Cube,'” Ryan Garcia told Brian Custer’s channeltalking about Devin and Bill Haney.

The rematch with Ryan Garcia is the biggest fight for Haney in 2026. No one else can bring Devin the same kind of payday. Besides money, Devin needs to avenge his loss to Garcia in 2024. The memory of him beating him is firmly etched in fans’ minds.

“I went to beat the bully. He’s not a bully. Devin Haney has the pitch of Michael Jackson. I made a **hope on him,” Ryan said. “He has to live with that a ** hoop. His jaw was sideways. Everything was crazy. I even made his mother pass out in the stands when I dropped him.”

Haney’s loss to Ryan was a bad one. Even though the New York State Athletic Commission later changed the result to a no contest, he still dominated. It was the real result that anyone cared about.

“You’re not worried about me, but that video lives forever. I’m not worried about him. We’re both not worried about each other. I’m going to come running these belts, and guess what? When they want that money, who are they going to call? Me. Those are the facts of the matter,” Ryan said, responding that Ryan wasn’t interested.

Haney needs to get the rematch with Ryan done before either of them suffer defeats. Haney hasn’t looked good in either of his two fights since that fight. He lasted all night in his fight against Brian Norman Jr., and looked like a track athlete in his fight last May against Jose Ramirez.
