Liverpool are currently leading the Premier League standings under manager Arne Slot.
The Reds have started the new season in fine form and have shown there is hope for life after Jurgen Klopp at Anfield.
With five wins in their first six Premier League games of the season, Liverpool have shown they mean business this season.
Manchester City and Arsenal have been battling it out for the Premier League title for the past two seasons and despite Liverpool’s bright start, Gary Neville believes the winner will come from those two clubs.
The football expert has predicted that Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal will win the Premier League title this season.
While talking with NBC Sportss, Neville predicted that it is finally time for the Gunners to emerge as winners ahead of Pep Guardiola’s Man City.
He said:
“I picked Arsenal at the start of the season to win the league. I think they’re getting close.
“They will win the league this season, not because of what happened last week with Rodri. I think this could be a season too far for Manchester City.
“But look, it’s Pep Guardiola. I think he really looks like he’s ready for the fight and he’s actually taking on Mikel Arteta in the press conferences, which is great to see.”
Arteta’s Arsenal almost won at the Etihad Stadium this season with ten men, but a late goal from John Stones salvaged a point for Man City.
Arsenal are getting closer and closer to winning the Premier League title
In recent seasons, Arsenal have closed the gap on Man City and shown they have what it takes to compete with the Sky Blues.
It wouldn’t be wrong to say that Guardiola has the best squad in the world at his disposal and Arteta and Arsenal deserve credit for competing against them and bringing them close in the title race.
Arsenal look much better defensively this season and have added quality and depth to their squad in the summer transfer window.
Their only problem is the fact that they have some key players injured at the moment. With his return coming soon, Arteta will have a fully fit squad for his title.
