Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli failed in the comeback game
The return of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma to international cricket ended on a sour note as they failed to perform well in Hard Batting conditions.
A daily dose of cricket!
Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have become single-format players after retiring from Test and T20I cricket and will be in action in 50-over matches, which is very rare these days.
Kohli and Rohit, battling against their sport and the Australian tour, batted even before this development and confirmed this development. Dinesh Karthik and Abhishek Nayar.
Rohit lost 8-10 kilograms to get in top shape, Kohli made sure he retained the ‘fittest cricketer’ tag by working on his body when he was away from competitive cricket action.
When the modern day batting greats took to the wicket, they rushed to hit the nets to ensure they pushed themselves in the Australian conditions ahead of the series.
Kohli looked very sharp in his first net session. It didn’t look like he was out of action for too long and he rode his shots to perfection at the nets.
But that was not the case with Rohit Sharma, who was initially scratched on the field. He didn’t look too good at the start, but after spending some time in the middle, he got back into the rhythm and started to look good.
Meanwhile, the batting legends’ education and hard work went in vain as both failed to score in the Odi series opener. Rohit Sharma hit 8 off 8 balls, virat kohli bounced back with a duck bagged.
On the 4th ball of the fourth, Rohne bowled a delivery Josh Hazlewood To Matt Renshaw, Virat Kohli drives Mitchell Starc to Cooper Connolly.
When you lose three wickets in PowerPlay, you always try to play catch – Shubman Gill
India posted just 136/9 on the board, bowled out and Australia set a target of 131 runs to chase down in a 26 over contest. The Mitchell Marsh-Led side reached the target with 29 balls to spare to win the match by 7 wickets.
Speaking at the post-match presentation ceremony, Shubman Gill made a show of his own fault, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, India’s Or Or Kohli. He said:
“When you lose three wickets in PowerPlay, you always try to play a catch game (with rain delays and a poor start). A lot of learning from this game and a lot of positives for us.
We were very pleased – Shubman Gill
Shubman Gill later thanked the Indian fans for putting up big numbers and was very happy with the way the bowlers performed as they chased down a small score. He said:
“We were defending 130 and we didn’t play the game until the end, it wasn’t very deep. We were very pleased with that.
“We’ve been very lucky (with the crowd support). The fans have been great and hopefully they’ll be able to cheer us on in Adelaide.”
