This week, we discuss what the future of men’s golf, tours with new weapons and the best golf club logos can look like.
Most recent PGA Tour-Pif Meeting of “Ribration” He was initiated by President Donald Trump and held at the White House on Thursday, leading to more speculation that a long -awaited deal could come soon. No matter how quickly a deal becomes, based on what you have heard and learned over the past few months, what can the future of men Golf look look like? A tour? Two working alongside each other? What about the team component? What is your best forecast?
Jessica Marxbury, high editor (@Jess_Marksbury) :: My best assumption is that we will see the creation of a new series of tournaments that will be separated from PGA Tour and Liv, but will be open to players from both leagues – with significant PIF investments. It is clear that both sides want to see the best players in the world competing against one another more than four times a year, and the addition of events compared to the melting of two shifts together seems like the most logical way forward. From what we have heard, Liv is not going anywhere, so this will allow the two leagues to continue to exist independently, while still “uniting” the best players in the world.
Josh Sens, elderly writer (@Jossens): He agreed, Jesse. Liv doesn’t seem to be going anywhere. I see the two counties that continue in their parallel universes, with a kind of world -limited world tour that takes big weapons together more often than four times a year that we now see in diplomas. In a side note, whatever happens, I would expect Liv -ers like Jon Rahm and Brooks Koepka to appear in opposite teams in this year’s Ryder Cup.
Alan Bastable, Executive Editor (@alan_bastable) :: Only what the golf needs: other Tournament but, yes… some versions of what my two wise colleagues have sketched, it looks like the most likely scenario, because what is the alternative? Hard to achieve the contracting of LIV contractors blanche card Privileges in PGA Tour, and it is just as difficult to win the PGA Tour Moon stars in LIVE events; The liv model does not support the points, or at least the current tournament does not. Whatever happens, it seems that President Trump’s courses will continue to be part of the equation. Why would the next be so involved?
Brian Campbell won Mexico Open, beating Aldrich Potgieter in the second hole of a play -off after Drive Campbell’s Ricocheted off a tree Outside the borders and he still made birds. What made more impress you for the first title of Campbell’s tour?
Marxbury: Every time a player wins a play off, it is usually indicative of some serious metals. Campbell is no exception. But I am inclined to look beyond his performance this week on the journey he has passed for the last 10 years, grinding at the Korn Ferry tournament. He showed some serious noise to simply get his tour card this year, and now he has his first PGA Tour victory. I love such stories – and it seems to be just the beginning.
Sense: For beginners, he came after long years in the desert, trying to recover the tour card he would lose. But this week, he was also paired for the last two rounds with a child who was knocking about 40 yards crossing him outside. He could have been easily removed from his game trying to continue. But he remained patient. I don’t think anyone would call the round beautiful, but the grind is not supposed to be beautiful.
Basic: The color impressed me from the way Campbell reached his nerves. On Sunday evening, he admitted he felt like he was throwing most of the day, and perhaps it was never that noise more visible than when, in his first swing on the play off, he cut his shoot in the tree . But instead of letting him a little messy to undo it, he used a break for centuries and still made birds. Quite delightful things. How much would the victory for him and his wife, Kelsi mean? Her tears told her all.
Potgieter, in only 20 years, Nearly became one of the newest winners In the history of the tournament, and this is after he became the newest winner in the history of the Korn Ferry tournament last season. What did you think of his week and is that the best new perspective in the game?
Marxbury: Is it just, or does it look like there is a new new weapon to discuss every week? We had Blades Brown making his first PGA Tour cut on Friday to 17, Ludwig Aberg ranks fourth in the world in only 25 years old, and Nick Dunlap and Akshay Batia already have two wins each at the age of 21 and 23, respectively. And let’s not forget Luke Clanton, who is 21 years old! Given the ability to hit the ball we have seen this week, I certainly expect potgieter to make a name for himself in a similar way. But the “Best New Perspective” race boasts a very competitive field.
Sense: Combine this week with the appearance of his latest group on farmers, and he has made a strong first impression. But if today’s soft fragmentation was any indicator, his short game still needs Polish. I’m with Jesso. He is definitely a great talent, but I don’t know how you highlight the best in such a thick crowd.
Bastable: Is 25 still considered “new” in PGA Tour? If so, you will not find a better byp (the best new perspective) than Luddy Aberg. Potgieter is the real deal, however. I liked what he said to learn how to play under Sunday’s pressure, first in Torrey and then again this week. The only way to try it – and to improve it – is by taking yourself into the mix.
Our Golf travel experts Simon Holt and Josh Sens, recently destroyed The best golf course logos in ours Golf Podcast destination – a topic of controversial really. What is your favorite?
Marxbury: What fun question! I have a no. 1 Clear: Maidstone Club in East Hampton. The whale logo is traditional, strange and delightful all immediately. The honors honored for me are Baltusrol, winged legs and hay in Pebble Beach – that sea lion bearing the flag is excellent.

Semester
sense: I am partial to Pasatiempo – a boy in a sombrero, plunging under a tree. It’s unusual. And playful. And capture the smooth air of Santa Cruz and also the cold atmosphere in the course. One of the rare Elite Mackezie courses that allows anyone to play.
Bastable: The Stanwich magician chains on a flag pole has always been one of my deceptions. I also appreciate the simplicity of Sand Hills’s emblem: a “s” and a “h” joined together to resemble a cattle brand.
Last week, the two main sports leagues were praised (NHL) and criticized (NBA) for their treatment of their respective All-Star weekends. (Or, in the case of NHL, replacing their All-Star game with 4 face-off nations.) Why isn’t there pro Golf to have its own “All-Star” weekend? And, just for fun, how can anyone look like?
Marxbury: I am taking an inspiration from the old three-tour of Wendy and the current Scandinavian mixed at the DP World Tournament. What about a field of 60 players – the top 20 places from the LPGA, PGA Tour and PGA Tour Champions – competing in an individual tour from the appropriate tees in the same course? They will play 36 holes over two days to identify an All-Star champion!
Sense: Isn’t it what is the seasonless season/was it? Golf already has so many additional events that feel like star games-many very talented athletes with nothing in question-I’m not sure it needs another. But if we go to that road, I have always wanted to see a pro event, where once in the round, at an important moment, players have to choose a random spectator from the crowd to hit a blow to the opposition. Talk about setting the hammer down.
Basic: I would all be in a medium season skills competition, displaying the best players of men and women. Thinking less along the lines of long car competitions and more events that identify excellence in the bunker game, placement and iron shots from specific yards. I have also long been fascinated by those who are the fastest players, and I’m not talking about the speed of the swing. Line all for a 50-borrite ram.
