WTA celebrated a 2024 Banner in terms of its growing global audience.
According to the tournament, WTA’s global cumulative audience increased by 10% last year to reach a record 1.1 billion on broadcasting and broadcasting platforms worldwide.
The first year of the WTA final in Saudi Arabia also made a significant impact.
WTA finals withdrew the largest audience of any end of the year in WTA history, with a global audience of 78 million, with 160% against last year’s audience.
In an email, the tour mentioned Chinese commitment as a big cause of total numbers. The tournament recently announced that it is expanding its audience in China for the 2025 season following a new deal announced by the WTA Ventures and Tencent. The deal means that the Digital Tencent Platforms will offer coverage from any tournament on the Hologic WTA tour to the WTA final ending in the Riyadh season introduced by PIF in November, including all WTA 250, 500 and 1000, except events played on the Chinese continent.
Currently there are five Chinese single players in the top 100 WTA rankings led by the golden Olympic medalist Zheng Qinwen.
WTA says two -thirds of its global audiences are under 45 years of age, and Adhed that participation in WTA events increased by 15% to 3.5 million.
