Indian National Cricket Team batsman Virat Kohli tries to fight with the bat in Test cricket. The Premier League player is slightly below his standards and even his place in the team was under the scanner, with many calls for him to be let go.

Virat Kohli scored a total of 190 runs in Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25

In the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25, Virat Kohli managed just 190 runs and looked furious with the bat. He scored a century in the first match, it looked like he would set the scene on fire, but it was not to be as he failed in the remaining 4 matches.

As the Australian pacers were all inclined, Kohli got the ball out. He averaged 23.75 points in the series. Overall, in the last 10 Tests, the Indian National Cricket Team has scored 392 runs in the last 10 Tests at an average of 23.05, which is way below its standards.

While he has dominated all three formats around the world, he has other responsibilities that he does not have – Bradd Hogg on Virat Kohli

Talking about Kohli’s struggles, Brad Hogg said he now has other commitments that are not in his prime. He said that the drama outside the field caused him to not perform well at the moment. He explained the following in a video posted on his YouTube channel:

“And suddenly he has a family now. He has other commitments around the world that he didn’t have when he was dominating all three formats. It’s not just about cricket, it’s what’s happening off the field as well.”

“I think it’s more off-field drama than Virat Kohli on the field. I think he has too much on his plate and that’s probably why he’s not performing well at the moment.”

There is a lot of pressure on him – Bradd Hogg on Virat Kohli

Brad Hogg added that the amount of cricket Kohli has played has also affected his performances. He mentioned that he has to play IPL for RCB as well after a hectic international cricket. He elaborated:

“I think it’s more than the amount of cricket that’s being played at the moment because you try to play as much as you can for India in all three formats. Then you’ve got the IPL and it’s extended by a week or two. good.”

“So there is a lot of pressure there too because the owners are spending big money on players in the IPL. Virat Kohli is an elite player for RCB. So there is a lot of pressure on him there.”
