Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho He is reported to continue to attract interest as we approach the end of the January transfer window.

The Argentina international is wanted by both Chelsea and Napoli, with the latter apparently ‘getting closer’ to matching the Man Utd player’s valuation.

“The fans need to know: I traveled to Manchester to give them the chance, but they didn’t want me!” – Which Man Utd legend met with the club to become chairman?

That’s according to journalist Ben Jacobs, who has posted on X about Garnacho’s situation, with Chelsea also considering a bid as it appears the talented 20-year-old could be available for around €70m.

Still, if Napoli are closing in on a deal, then Chelsea may have to make a move if they want to stand a chance of signing him…

Garnacho has mostly looked like an exciting performer for United, but has perhaps been a little less convincing this season, so it’s no surprise to see him come at a price.

Even if the red devils are not desperate to sell Garnatxoit could end up being a decent business if they can offload it for a significant profit.

Do Chelsea really need Alejandro Garnacho?

It makes sense for Napoli to pursue Garnacho as they have just sold star striker Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and will surely need a replacement.

Still, it’s not exactly clear what Chelsea would get out of signing Garnacho when they already have so many options in that position.

Enzo Maresca has Cole Palmer, Jadon Sancho, Pedro Neto, Noni Madueke and Joao Felix as options in the attacking midfield department, so it’s hard to imagine Garnacho seeing much game time there.

Still, Chelsea could do well to take the opportunity to snap up this exciting young talent if he is available, as he could end up having the potential to be better than some of these aforementioned players.

Maresca have rotated a lot this season as Sancho, Neto, Madueke and Felix haven’t been as consistent, so maybe Garnacho could end up being a useful upgrade.
