Travis Head bats on Day 2 of the third Test at the Gabba on Sunday, December 15. The left-handed batsman hit his second consecutive ton against India. Notably, the middle-order player scored 140 runs in the Adelaide Test match, where Australia won by 10 wickets to level the series 1-1.

Travis Head continued his fine form to frustrate the Indian bowlers. However, Nitish Kumar Reddy was ruled out off Head’s bat in the final session of the day. He closed the face of the bat to play towards the leg side. But the ball flew to the left of Rohit Sharma, who was at wide slip.
The Indian skipper jumped to his left side and tried to catch the ball with both hands. However, the 37-year-old football player could not take over. After the seizure, Nitish looked understandably disappointed. Nitish’s reaction to the thrown catch caught the attention of his fans on social media.

Travis Head scores his Second Consecutive Test Century against India
Travis Head reached his century on 69 in Australia’s first innings in the Brisbane Test. Jasprit Bumrah attempted a yorker but it turned into a low shot and Head flicked it through mid-wicket for three runs. The left-hander reached the ton in just 115 deliveries against the Indian attack.
He takes away the ongoing Test match in Brisbane from India. Head averaged over 100 in the ongoing series, with two centuries and 89 in the second innings of the first Test in Perth. He passed 1000 runs at an average of over 50 against India, including three hundreds and four fifties.
India-Travis Head Match Interesting – Adam Gilchrist
Speaking ahead of the third Test, former Australian all-rounder Adam Gilchrist advised India to use a short-ball strategy to counter Travis Head. Gilchrist celebrated New Zealand’s success earlier in the year, noting that Head struggled with this tactic.
“The India-Travis Head match is interesting. I can’t believe they didn’t start with a short-term bowling strategy against him and stick with it. He’ll get on with it and maybe score a few runs, but I’ve seen New Zealand use it effectively before, it’s about clarifying your plans and forcing him to take risks to escape the pressure,” Adam Gilchrist told SEN Cricket (India Today).
