Cassidy Armstrong and Tyler Dylak take first place at the 45th Annual Foot Locker Cross Country West Regional Championships.


The West FootLocker Regional took place on December 7th, 2024. The 5000 meters on the Mt. SAC course had some of the best high schoolers on the West Coast. We’ll have to wait and see this weekend.

Cassidy Armstrong and Tyler Daylak take the top spots

45th Annual Foot Locker Cross Country Championships West Regional; The top 10 boys and girls qualify for the national finals

Highlights of the race:

Cassidy Armstrong of Seattle, Wash., and Tyler Daylak of Paso Robles, Calif., won their respective Foot Locker Cross Country Championships today.Kiara Daley, a junior at Ballard High School, won the title in the girls’ race from La Jolla, California Jr., was second in 18:05.Jaylin Williams, a junior from Chula Vista, Calif., was third in 18:12. High school senior, Foot Locker Cross National Finalist last year. sophomore Ruby Ihmels, last year’s West Region national qualifier from Boise, ID, advanced to the 2024 finals from the Midwest Region, finishing sixth (this year, hailing from Bismarck, ND) in that region. last Saturday’s race in Wisconsin.

In the boys championship race, Paso Robles High School senior Dylak took the title in 15:28, with Cade Brownell, Sr., of Colbert, WA, finishing second in 15:34, and Johannes Van Meerten, a sophomore from Flagstaff, AZ, third in 15:35. Brownell and Trey, who finished fourth in today’s race Caldwell, a senior from Danville, Calif., competed in the national finals of last year’s Foot Locker Cross Championships.
