2026 Spring Middle Distance Training (800m-5000m), Tuesday, May 26, 2026, Week 11, Day 2 Tuesday is Tempo Day.

Training Tuesday May 26, 2026 (Week 11, Day 2, Spring 2026)

These are your early spring workouts. We are now in week eleven.

Your Tuesday workout: warm-up, 30 minutes of easy jogging, 20 minutes of general tempo, in two variations:

a. 4 x 4 minutes at current average mile pace at current 5k race pace, plus a 25 second, 1 minute run between the 4 minutes of Tempo runs. So if you’re running a 5K at 18 minute pace or 5:50 pace, you’re running 4 minutes at 6:25 per mile pace.

b. 2 x 7 minutes at current mile pace at 5k race pace plus a 25 second, 3 minute run. So if you’re currently at 5:30 race pace for the 5k, pace yourself at 5:55 pace.

Cool well, hydrate.

Hydration is a state of mind. Hydration is not drinking too many sugary drinks. it’s about drinking water, 8-12 glasses of 8-12 ounces a day, carrying a water bottle, and managing caffeine and sugary drinks, which for a true athlete are absolute crap. Also, stay away from so-called sports energy drinks and don’t combine them with alcohol. Why train your ass and then mess it up by putting some junk in your mortal engine?

Think before you drink.

Want to be a better runner than you were before? Focus and follow our training. It’s all about consistency.
