You have to go back a few years to find a major championship in which Scottie Scheffler wasn’t the prohibitive betting favorite, and for good reason: The 29-year-old has been a stellar performer since bursting onto the PGA Tour scene in 2020 and was named PGA Tour Rookie of the Year.
Since then, Scheffler has amassed 20 PGA Tour wins and four major championships, and is in his 157th consecutive week at No. 1 in the World – a run that began in May 2023. And in addition to these four major victories, Scheffler has finished in the top 10, an amazing one time by the PGA, an amazing four times by P13.
Needless to say, at this week’s PGA Championship IN Aroniminksecond major championship of the year, the betting landscape hasn’t changed much, with Scheffler topping the list at +450. Did we mention he’s also the reigning champion, with three straight runners-up going into this week?
Despite Scheffler’s long list of credentials, you could argue that he isn’t the hottest player on the field this week. That cloak belongs to him Cameron Youngwho, after winning the Players Championship and the Cadillac Championship, is now No. 3 in the world, behind only Scheffler and Rory McIlroy. Young’s odds to win this week: +1200.
And speaking of McIlroy, the back-to-back Masters champion is right behind Scheffler at +850 odds. WOW. That’s a big trio of contenders, and we haven’t even mentioned other stars on the field like Jon Rahm, Xander Schauffele, Bryson DeChambeau, Matt Fitzpatrick, the list goes on!
One thing’s for sure: We’re in for a big show this week. You can view the PGA Championship odds as of Monday evening for the top 20 players below.
