The Major League Cricket (MLC) 2026 edition June 18, 2026 at Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas definitely started with fireworks. Opening ceremony of the tournament Texas Super Kings (TSK) and Seattle Orcas delivered a high-octane thriller that will be remembered for two things: a mind-blowing moment of individual brilliance on the field and a masterclass chase that brought the home crowd to its feet. Seattle posted a massive 220/2 but Texas Super Kings chased it down with 9 balls to spare, winning by 6 wickets in a game that set an incredibly high bar for the rest of the MLC 2026 season.
Adam Milne holds on for a sharp turn to get rid of Tim Seifert at MLC 2026
The Seattle Orcas were flying high thanks to a magnificent opening stand of 191 runs. Shayan Jahangir (78 off 47) and Tim Seifert. Seifert was in perfect touch as he scored 104 off just 66 balls studded with 8 fours and 6 big sixes. As the innings drew to a close, Seifert looked unstoppable, but the second ball of the final produced a moment of magic.
Kiwi speedster Adam Milne Followed Seifert with a quick, full delivery as he stepped back to create a batter’s ground. Seifert lands the ball with great force. In what looked more like an act of self-defense than a deliberate attempt to shoot, Milne instinctively raised his hands to his face. Miraculously, the ball stuck.
Displaying lightning-quick reflexes that defy belief, Milne mustered a shout from the air to dislodge his compatriot. It was a stunning chase that left commentators and fans speechless, ending Seifert’s magnificent innings of 104 and restricting Seattle to 220/2 when they threatened to cross 230. Milne finished his spell as the pick of the conventional bowlers for Texas by taking 41 for 1 on a one-pitch highway.

Faf du Plessis’ brilliant hundred guided TSK to a famous victory
Chasing 221 runs on the opening night is a tough task for any team, especially after losing the opener Saiteja Mukkamalla for a very first duck. However, the Texas Super Kings captain Faf du Plessis decided to lead from the front by putting on an absolute clinic in an aggressive T20 chase.
Partnered with Du Plessis and immediately counter-attacked Riley Rossouw (49 off 21) to power TSK to an astonishing 89 runs in the forced power play. The captain reached his half-century in just 24 balls and refused to slow down. He went on to smash a breathtaking 113, clearing the boundary 7 times and hitting 9 more fours, not to mention 52 deliveries.
Despite losing Rossouw, Soft Kumar (13) and Shubham Ranjane (10) All along the way, Du Plessis remained completely unflappable. He found a capable ally in him Wian Mulderhe fired a quick 31* from 15 balls to completely take the wind out of Seattle’s sails. The pair shared an unbeaten 56-run partnership for the 5th wicket and steered Texas over the line at 221/4 in just 18.3 overs.
