The second major of the year, 2026 PGA Championship in Aronimink, it’s only a week away. But first, most of the PGA Tour’s top players will battle it out for a $3.6 million winner’s share in the second consecutive Signature Event.
The Truist Championship makes its official return to Quail Hollow on Thursday morning, where world no Rory McIlroy will begin his attempt to capture PGA Tour Victory no. 31. McIlroy will also prepare his game for a run at his second straight major win next week.
McIlroy will face a small but strong field starting Thursday at red-hot Truist Cameron Young and similarly with steam Matt Fitzpatrick showing no fear in recent weeks.
Other well-known tour pros such as Rickie Fowler, Jordan Spieth AND Xander Schauffele are in the field this week as well.
McIlroy tees off for the opening round Thursday at 11:33 a.m. ET along with Fitzpatrick and Justin Rose.
