Separate group times for the 3rd round
As the Truist Championship rolls into the weekend at Quail Hollow Club, one featured group stands out: Xander Schauffele AND Jordan Spieth.
In a candid moment during Wednesday’s press conference, Schauffele shared that he has had a role model in him. PGA Tour the season.
“I haven’t been very much in touch with the lead in most events. Overall, just a few things here or there that I need to do a little bit better in four days to get across the finish line,” Schauffele said.
His continued quest for better all-around execution comes as he enters a critical period of the season. With three majors left on the calendar, the priority is finding a completely synchronized game — or as Schauffele puts it, “trying to find a way to make everything click at the same time.”
In addition to Schauffele, there is also added intrigue surrounding Jordan Spieth as we head into The PGA Championship — the only major he was missing Career Grand Slam. Watching both players this week at Quail Hollow adds another layer to the weekend: not just who can contend now, but who is ready for golf’s second major championship.
Spieth and Schauffele will tee off at 10:50 a.m. ET.
