Travelers Championship times: What you need to know
You might think that reaching the razor’s edge of a historic round of 59 would give you a sizable cushion on the leaderboard, but as Scottie Scheffler proved Friday, when you’re up against the world’s best on a very affordable golf course, it can feel like you’re just treading water.
Scheffler shot a 10-under 60 in Round 2, which included 11 birdies and a bogey, but he holds just a two-shot lead halfway through the tournament at 16-under par. His nearest competitor, Viktor Hovland, is 14 under after his hot round of 61.
“At the end of the day, I was very focused on just my execution out there. Who knows what the lead will be after today?” Scheffler said of his second round, which was completed on the morning tide of times. “I’ve put myself in position now this week. Go home, get some rest and get ready for tomorrow.”
Scheffler is looking for his second win of the year after posting a total of eight top-10 finishes so far in 2026. Scheffler will play alongside Hovland in the third round at 2pm ET.
