Bag for 2026 PGA Championship has grown to a record $20.5 million for this year’s tournament in Aronimink Golf Club in Newtown Square, Pa.
The PGA of America announced the purse increase and payout split on Saturday. The $20.5 million prize fund is up from last year’s $19 million total.
Sunday’s champion will also get a raise — a $3.69 million winner’s check. The top three players in the men’s second event of the season all receive seven-figure payouts, as second place receives $2.214 million and third place $1.394 million. Payouts of $984,000 (for 4th) and $820,000 (for 5th) round out the top five. (Rory McIlroy claimed $4.5 million of his $22.5 million Masters purse last month.)
Players who missed the PGA cut received $4,300 each.
The final round in Aronimink will be fun. Alex Smalley starts the day with a two-shot lead over the field at six under, but dozens of players are within a few strokes of the leadincluding stars like Jon Rahm, Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler.
