If you’re like me, you carry your gear in your bag IN is as important as the gear itself. I have had Backpack A2 by Jones Sports Company on two trips and has become my favorite travel companion.
The right size
I’m not tall and can’t stand a backpack that feels like it’s going to drag on the ground behind me. of A2 captures a sweet spot at 21 x 13 x 4 inches (53 cm x 33 cm x 10 cm). It’s big enough to carry everything you need for a golf trip without looking like you’re lugging a school locker through the airport. It fits well and doesn’t make you feel like you’re walking around with a bag.

Organized for the way you travel
of A2 it’s built for the golfer who needs everything in its own place. Here’s what you get:
- Main division: Padded laptop sleeve keeps your technology protected on the road
- Front pocket: Elastic mesh sleeve with easy pull tabs for your phone, keys or anything you need quickly
- Water resistant chain: Two of them, so your wallet and valuables stay dry whatever the weather
- Side sleeves: Perfect for a water bottle on each side
- Luggage strap: Slides directly onto a rolling bag handle

Built to last
This is the place where A2 really stands out. Jones makes their golf bags from recycled ripstop fabric. The A2 gets the same recycled F-35 Ripstop treatment with a wax finish. It is water resistant, light and strong.
The shoulder straps are ergonomically shaped and tapered to hit the right stress points across your shoulders. I have found that the weight is distributed rather than sitting in just one place. The top grab handle has a molded plastic insert so that it maintains its structure and remains comfortable to hold even when the bag is fully loaded.

A little personal touch
A detail worth noting is that A2 there is a hidden embroidery slot tucked under the cinched front flap. Jones has a strong embroidery program with club logos, monograms, etc. Placement keeps things looking clean and minimal on the outside while still making them your own.
Final thoughts
of A2 is a well-built, carefully designed travel backpack made with the golf traveler specifically in mind. I’ve used it on two trips already and it’s earned a permanent place in my rotation. There are 13 color options; the one i own is called “Seacrest.”
