A few weeks ago, Wilson came out with two new zero-torque gauges that retail for just under $200.
today, Tour Edge says “Hold my beer”.
Tour Edge is doubling down on zero torque with the new one The zero T family of paws. It includes four new zero-torque models, including a shape that is fast becoming the zero-torque Anser/Spider shape of the world.
Come on man, what do you want? Pure originality or something that will put the damn ball in the damn hole for less than two bucks?
Regardless, these Tour Edge Zero T paws are another entry into what we might now call the zero-torque “value price” category. And with each new entry into that category, we’re faced with more uncomfortable questions that challenge our narrowly held notions of golf equipment.

It’s fair to say that 2026 has been one Tour Edge kind of year. First it was a much-needed brand refresh. The new look is clean and modern, which matters more than you think.
Next, the Exotics Max driver knocked down the top five in this year’s MyGolfSpy testing the best driver with killer scores for accuracy and forgiveness. Meanwhile, the new Tour Edge Exotics CB forged irons were brought into the conversation in our player’s iron testing, finishing sixth overall and tops in the field for forgiveness.
And while the new Tour Edge Exotics mini driver it’s not out in stores yet, I have a few rounds in the books with it. So far, it’s proven to be a freeway-finding monster that can go as low as 10 degrees if you want it to.
so yeah Tour Edge is making a pretty aggressive push to get your attention and the new one The zero T family of paws is another amusement in that attack. The line features four cleverly named models ZT-1, ZT-2, ZT-3 and wait….

of Zero T The feature set comes chapter and verse from the zero-torque playbook. Each shaft of the putter is aligned with the tire’s center of mass to reduce torque and resist face rotation throughout the stroke. The idea is to create a shooting face that wants to stay on the square.
“Getting the putter’s face square to the target line at impact is critical to setting performance,” says Tour Edge CEO David Glod. “The Zero T design stabilizes the face at impact to support that output for players of all skill levels.”
A quick guide to zero torque
You wouldn’t think it needed to be said at this point, but it still needs to be said at this point: zero torque yes NO means “with central axis”. Yes, center pivot gauges have been around forever and, yes, most zero torque mags are center pivot. But not all hub thrusters have zero torque.
Said another way, while all squares are rectangles, not all rectangles are squares.
The zero torque is designed to stay square with the stroke path. When the axis of the shaft aligns with the head’s center of mass, the head resists rotation during impact without any help from you.
With traditional throwers, the axis of the axle does not coincide with the center of mass. This means that the putter head can and will rotate open and closed during impact, even with a straight/straight back design.
Who benefits from zero torque? If you tend to pull or push your shots, zero torque can help smooth out those face angle errors at impact and keep the face stable. Even straight/straight backhanders, who naturally fit into a more linear stroke, can benefit from a putter that doesn’t want to spin.
If you tend to get “handy” with your putting stroke, zero torque can reduce timing dependency. After all, the shooter will not fight you during the shot.
Who benefits least from zero torque? Mainly, it’s the strong bow players who need a lot of finger flow during the stroke. Zero torque can feel very restrictive and can fight your natural movement. Also, if you tend to be one of the rare players who really “feels” hooked and likes to manipulate the face, zero torque is anathema to your shot. True emotional gamers are, in reality, quite rare. You’ll know them as the oddballs that can really shoot the lights out with an 8802 or a Bulls eye.
The Tour Edge Zero T Family of Paws
The new line of Tour Edge Zero T putters contains four models. of ZT-1, ZT-2 AND ZT-3 are the most compact members of the family. They are one-piece castings made from 304 stainless steel ZT-4 is the largest model. It features an aluminum body with a TPU insert for softer feel.
It’s also one that bears a striking resemblance to offerings from Odyssey and LAB

All three cast members sport horizontal facial grinds, not unlike Rife’s originals from the early 2000s. ZT-1 it also features a three-dimensional alignment system with a central line near the face and two wider lines further out to help frame the ball. She also has the highest MOI of the three cast models.
of ZT-2 AND ZT-3 are more square-shaped mini hammers that feature a high-contrast topline alignment helper. The ZT-3 is larger front to back with significantly higher MOI than the ZT-2.
of ZT-4 is the familiar form of “alien” and has the highest MIA in the family. Like its Odyssey counterpart, it features a wide white stripe across the back to aid alignment. There is also a golf ball sized indentation at the rear to move the CG forward. It also serves as a useful scoop for the ball.

On the one hand, you can go ahead and finish this Tour Edge it’s just cashing in on the zero-torque craze with another offering to the growing segment of the torque-loving golf public.
You won’t be wrong.
On the other hand, you might also conclude that the Tour Edge, touting four zero-torque gauges at $199.99 a go, is giving you more high-quality options at a low barrier to entry price point.
You won’t go wrong there either.
It all depends on what point you want to make and how cynical you are trying to appear. I don’t care who you are: Tour Edge is forcing you to answer some tough questions. Are you willing to consider a brand outside of the Big Five that consistently offers you options that range from solid to exceptional? Especially when these options come with more attractive prices?
Or is it you? washed brand?
This is a question worth asking yourself.
