Suryansh Shedge shares his heartwarming reaction after wearing the India jersey for the first time



Every cricketer dreams of representing Indiahowever, only a select few get to wear the iconic blue jersey. For young dough Suryansh Shedgethat dream has already become a reality. The 23-year-old recently received his first call-up for the upcoming T20I series against India. Ireland and Englandmarks an important milestone in his promising career.

Ahead of the India tour, Shedge shared a heartwarming message after donning the India jersey for the first time. His emotional words quickly resonated with his fans, highlighting the years of hard work, dedication and sacrifice that finally culminated in this special moment.

Suryansh Shedge opens after fulfilling his childhood dream

In a candid video shared by the IPL franchise Punjab Kings (PBKS) on social media, Shedge reflected on the sacrifices and hard work that went into earning his first India call-up. The young batsman admitted that wearing the national jersey brings a completely different sense of motivation and pride, while also reminding him of his childhood dreams.

“Something I worked hard for, sacrificed my friends and family, everything was this (India) jersey. Now after wearing this jersey, I feel a different motivation and pride. I am sure a 10-12 year old Suryansh would see me and smile because I will give my best for my country to achieve my childhood dream. In the middle” Shedge said.

Reward for a remarkable breakout season

Shedge’s maiden call-up to India comes on the back of an impressive run across multiple competitions. Representing Punjab Kings IPL 2026the right-handed batsman impressed with his fearless finishing ability, scoring 158 runs from seven matches at an excellent strike rate of 175.55. His campaign included a memorable maiden IPL half-century against Gujarat Titans (GT)demonstrates ability to perform under pressure.

The Mumbai slant also made a strong impression India A During the Tri-Nation series Sri Lanka. He scored 147 runs in five matches at an average of 36.75 and a strike rate of 120.49, with a highest score of 72 against. Sri Lanka A in Dambulla.
