In Budapest, Hungary, Zakh’s 12th place in the 2023 Athletics championships ended the 12th place in the Marathon of the Wet World Champions, which was more than two minutes from his WB. Note that the athletes who ended in Budapest had a portrait between their Budapest times and their best.

Zach Panning captured the imagination of many, which was watched by 2024 of the US Olympic Field in Orlando. Zakh kept the leader, in hot and humid weather, until the last three miles, when Clayton Young, he passed him. Zakh was spent and dropped sixth, ended 2. 10.50.
