Masters athlete runs 62:27 at Dorking 10 as we present our latest round of endurance races from the UK.

While Kieran Barnes won the overall in 52:17 and Katie Grinier in 59:20 in the women’s section to take the Surrey titles in the process, another British W60 10 mile best was Sarah Gee in third.
The 62-year-old improved on Trina Johnson’s 2023 time of 64:36, first to 63:48, then to 63:13, and now down to 62:27.
Ji said: “I felt good and I like the distance and I like the wave courses. I covered 10km in 38:30 and was comfortable at that point. I’d like to lower it in October at the Cabbage Patch.”

Tavistock Under-16 pair Freddie Whybrow and Eldon Young were unable to break away at the head of the field in time as both clocked personal bests of 15:40 in fierce conditions, with Whybrow given the nod.
It was the much more experienced Louise Small who clocked 16:10 in the women’s race after setting a personal best of 15:44 in Guernsey over Easter. In April, she finished third British woman home in the London Marathon.

Omah Ahmed took his fifth straight win here and had a comfortable overall run in a race that attracted entrants from across the country due to its fast flat nature, along with top class veterans also moving up in age groups.
In the women’s race, Rose Harvey won in 71:58, running her fastest since 2023 after a personal best of 70:02 and 2:26:14 at this year’s London Marathon.
