O’Shaquie Foster says Shakur Camp is already preparing for him

“Definitely. It’s setting up exactly the way we wanted it to. The way God intended it to happen. It’s just happening,” Foster told InsideRingShow when asked if he believed a win over Ford would create fan demand for a fight against Stevenson.

Foster suggested Stevenson’s camp is already heavily involved behind the scenes as Ford prepares for Saturday’s fight.

“I see a lot. He (Shakur) got Wily, Shakur’s grandfather, everybody over there was helping him, trying to give him tips on how to beat me. I’ve never seen anything like that to be real with you. That’s how nervous. They know that I’m the truth. I just take it as a compliment, too.

“If you need all this help and all these people feel like they have to come and give you advice and tell you this and that, then it shows you the caliber of fighter that I am. So, I can’t wait to prove it and show them that none of that is going to work. And for sure, after this fight, I expect the public, I expect the fans and everybody to demand the Shakur fight once we get rid of his body,” Foster said.

Shakur had a chance to fight O’Shaquie earlier this year after winning the WBC interim lightweight title against Stephen Fulton. Instead, Stevenson moved up to 140 pounds to challenge Teofimo for the WBO title, and lost his belt after failing to pay the sanction fee.

Saturday’s battle against Ford now carries added interest because a dominant Foster performance could renew calls for Shakur to revisit the game later this year.
