
Last month, players hoping to qualify for the US Open competed in the final qualifiers for the third major of the yearalso known as “The Longest Day of Golf”. On Tuesday, golf fans will be treated to the British version with the final qualifiers of the 2026 Open Championship.
The 2026 Open Championship begins on July 16 at Royal Birkdaleand the last 20 spots in the tournament will be up for grabs on Tuesday. In total, there are four 2026 Open Championship qualifying events, with around 71 players in each field battling through 36 holes for five open spots in each event.
The final qualifying events are spread across Scotland and England, and while many competitors are unknown to golf fans, this is not true of all. Former Masters champions and current LIV Golf pros Sergio Garcia AND Danny Willett are among the most prominent players competing. They will battle it out for the open matches at the West Lancashire Qualifier, where YouTube golf stars George and Wesley Bryan are also trying to make their way into the final major of the year.
