The #37 Quattararo and Bastianini won at the top during a short test day when the home field resurfaced on Monday.
Backing up his pace over the weekend, Pedro Acosta (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) put aside Sunday’s disappointment and won the Barcelona test on Monday. The ‘Shark’ beat Fabio Quattararo (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP) and Enea Bastianini (Red Bull KTM Tech 3) by just 0.117 to cover the top three and one second 13th. The exam ended prematurely as heavy rain followed the sessions and no one left after lunch. All fasting times are set in the morning and are officially announced more than an hour ahead of schedule. In the morning there was an accident for George Martin (Aprilia Racing) and although he was taken to the hospital, no fracture was found.
Red Bull KTM Factory Racing & Tech 3
Pole on Saturday and close to a sprint win, a technical problem and a crash in the final corner on Sunday’s final lap cost Acosta the Catalan GP through his own fault. Nothing was going to stop ‘The Shark’ in Monday’s test though, with P1 bagging the last flying lap of the first session, two slow opening runs and a minor tech issue later. Teammate Brad Binder was 12th, with most of the items already available during testing.
Bastianini He suffered his first points-free weekend of 2026 but the beast returned on Monday in P3 in testing. Maverick Vinales (Red Bull KTM Tech 3) was fast and on the final schedule after returning to the race with an 11th place finish in Sunday’s Grand Prix. He praised the improvements to the front end of his RC16, which were reflected in Monday’s fourth-place finish. No shoulder issues to worry about, the #12 expects to see KTM’s new parts at the next GPs. Three KTMs are encouraging ahead of lap 7.
Monster Energy and Prima Pramac Yamaha MotoGP
Second on the schedule and 0.064s off the top spot, Quattararo was impressed by the congestion he found on the track in Barcelona, but he chalked it up to the circuit rather than any specific solution in the box. Still, P2 and two tenths of qualifying time left is a positive sign for the 2021 world champion, who had a new front wing to call upon. Teammate Reins was 13th and last of the riders, within a second of Acosta.
In the other Yamaha camp, Jack Miller (Prima Pramac Yamaha MotoGP) was 16th and teammate Torak Razgatlioglu in 19th. Miller donned Yamaha’s new front wings and went to work with them, while ‘El Turco’ set 45 laps, the best of anyone in the field. Important information for the triple WorldSBK champion who had an even tougher weekend.
Aprilia Racing, the track’s home MotoGP team
Following a dramatic Sunday for both riders, the Trackhouse MotoGP team of Raul Fernandez and Ay Ogura returned to action on Monday and produced 74 laps between them. Their fastest laps came in their final run and they finished the action in fifth and sixth place respectively, and finished as the best Aprilias. It was mainly a setup job for the Justin Marks team.

Top Ducati honors for Sunday’s runner-up Fermin Aldeguer (BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP), more than three-tenths off Acosta’s P1 time, with next Ducati’s Franco Morbidelli (Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team) just one place and 0.045 seconds behind the #54. The only rider to do any development work, Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team) continued to test the new swingarm that was shown at the weekend and finished in P10.
Honda HRC Castrol and Pro Honda LCR
Top Honda honors in Sunday’s Catalan GP went the way of ninth-placed Diogo Moreira (Pro Honda LCR). The Brazilian focused on setting up all day.
